Course Description

Our Certified Nursing Assistant and Geriatric Nursing Assistant (CNA/GNA) certification program prepares our students to acquire the necessary skills for them to land jobs as either a Certified Nursing Assistant, caregiver, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide/Attendant, Personal Care Assistant or companion care provider in senior care facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living communities, hospitals, clinics and private residences. Our program is swift, comprehensive, and up-to-date, gearing you towards a rewarding path in healthcare, a certification in only a matter of weeks.

 

As part of your already inherent trait to care and commit, we will teach you to be more patient, compassionate, and open-minded to assist and attend to patients while they perform daily tasks such as grooming and bathing.

Other skills and routine tasks you will learn throughout the training include:

   

  • Personal Care

  • Infection Control

  • Interpersonal Skills

  • Psychosocial Needs

  • Ambulatory Transfers

  • Patient Diet and Nutrition

  • Quality Work Improvement

  • Preventative Healthcare Methods

  • Basic Nursing and Restorative Skills

  • Safety and Emergency Procedures

  • Measuring solid/ liquid intake and output

  • Documenting and charting a patient’s vital signs and current condition

  • Observation, instruction, and reporting to a higher-up in the nursing staff 

 

Our Nursing Assistant Training program meets federal and state training requirements of certified nursing assistants and geriatric nursing assistants in the State of Maryland. The program is 114.5 clock hours (including 48 clock hours of lecture/theory, 24 clock hours of lab/ practice, and 42.05 clock hours of clinical experience).

Your Expenses

Main Expenses

 

  • Registration – $50

  • Tuition – $875

  • Books – $80

  • Lab Fee – $90

  • Materials – $90 (includes Blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, and white scrub uniform)

  • CPR/AED - $95

  • CPR Mask- $10

 

Additional Student Responsibilities

  • GNA State Exam – $130 (Payable to Credentia)

  • CNA Certification Fee – $20 (Payable to Maryland Board of Nursing)

  • Fingerprint – $60 (Payable to fingerprint provider)

  • First Aid – $50

  • Bloodborne Pathogen - $50 

 

Total Cost = $1,600.00 (Additional student’s responsibility included
